Hair of the Dog Drive
Once
upon a time, back in the twenth century, Doug M and FredR
put together a little drive that took us up in Montgomery,
Walker and Grimes County. Since that first drive, the HOD
has been a big hit.
We
have had HOD’s with 10 cars and 40 cars. We did it one
year when the temperature never got over 32 degrees, one year
in a blinding rain storm and, of course, my personal favorite,
the year we rounded a twisty corner on a little country back
road and all of a sudden, the road was under water. Impassable.
Not even in an X-5.

9:00AM Arrival; 9:15 departure
The Burger King, 1/4 mile West of I-45 on SH242 (South side of the WalMart) 242 is about 2 miles North of The Woodlands
.
As
typical for these drives, it’s really important to show
up with at least 200-250 miles in your tank. The good news is
that there is a filling station adjacent to the Burger King. Fillup there, you’ll be glad
you did. Hey, we’ll be glad you did ‘because we
won’t have to wait for you!
We will meet at this civilized hour, cruise around some of the back roads then stop for lunch. After that, we’ll all get back in our cars and take some twisty roads home. We’re usually back by 3-4ish so you can go to Grammas or watch the bowl games. Bring your FSR radio if you have one. If you don’t, there’s still time to send Santa a note, they’re great stocking stuffers.
