Here are some photos shot at Road Atlanta in November where I competed with "Junk Yard Dog" in the ARRC. The ARRC is a national SCCA-sanctioned competition for cars run is regional classes that do not have an opportunity to compete in the national runoffs each year at Mid-Ohio. This includes all the Improved Touring Classes such as ITA, ITB, ITC and ITS as well as others.
This year some 50+ ITS cars competed. Most are Japanese, with new 2nd generation Mazda RX-7's currently the technology leader. There are a few E-30's and now E-36's competing as well as a few Porsche 944s. The Mazda's have the horsepower and aerodynamic advantage that particularly lend themselves to a long track like Road Atlanta. There was a 20 lap sprint on Saturday morning followed by a 3 hr enduro after lunch. A BUSY day!
